ASHLEY TACKETT LAFERTY

Ashley Tackett Laferty is an attorney and public servant from Floyd County, Kentucky, with more than 20 years of experience practicing law and nearly eight years of service in the Kentucky House of Representatives.

During her time as a State Representative, Laferty was elected to four consecutive terms and represented the interests of Eastern Kentucky in Frankfort. Her legislative work has included efforts involving infrastructure, economic development, transportation, education, and projects across Floyd County and the surrounding region.

Among the projects and initiatives highlighted during her legislative service are the reopening of the prison at Wheelwright, completion of the 680 Connector, job development at Infinity Construction and Design in Martin, funding for the Mud Creek Straightening Project near John M. Stumbo Elementary, and funding associated with the Mountain Parkway expansion through Prestonsburg.

Laferty has also emphasized her connection to her family and community throughout her years in public service. As a mother of three, she has continued to live in Eastern Kentucky while commuting to Frankfort to fulfill her responsibilities as a State Representative.

In addition to her legislative career, Laferty has spent more than two decades practicing law and representing local families. She has described her transition toward judicial service as a new chapter in her professional career and public service, with a continued focus on the people and communities of Floyd County.
